Prayer Letter 64
Dear Praying Friends,
Having looked back at the letters I have written over the past year it has made me realise just how the church and society has changed and yet our God never changes, he is faithful and loving and we pray that that may be your experience of Him.
Thank you once again for your prayers which have been answered in so many ways. Peter (our Curate) continues to be well, and the services at Christmas and Easter were well supported. Church life is hectic, at times, as there is so much going on as we intentionally invest in Families, Children and Youth. As well as our children’s Sunday Club and two toddler groups, a Holiday Club is now run in school holidays which offers fun activities and Bible stories followed by lunch. There is also a Family Film Club once a month and a “Who Let The Dads Out?” morning, also monthly, for fathers and toddlers.
Cornerstone Café continues to run in the Parish Hall Coffee Bar but, this year, in July and August, there will be a branch of Cornerstone Café in the Parish Church to serve the many visitors who visit to climb the tower and enjoy the peace of the building. Also, every Tuesday evening from the beginning of June until the end of September the Organ Recitals will once more take place.
Simon Fenn, our Head of Mission, has introduced social events for men including the Men’s Breakfast and, not to be outdone, there is now a Women’s Brunch several times a year. Other regular events during the week are the Craft2Share group and Loose Ends, which organises walks, bird watching and theatre outings. All these events are open to non-church members and are ways for us to reach out to the community with God’s love.
I know many of you are very interested in the work of the Beach Mission and, once again this year, it will be held between the 18th and 25th August. Please pray for the Team, some from Scripture Union and some from the church, also pray for good weather and for the children involved and their families. There will be a Church Family Picnic on the 1st July and Sea Baptisms on the 8th July.
Our Small Groups continue to help us grow deeper friendships, the Mothers’ Union is still active and one of our church members runs an Exploring Prayer Course. So, finally, I would ask you to pray for each member of the Staff Team: for James (our Vicar) his wife, Katie, and their children, for Peter, Jennie and Simon as well as our Churchwardens, Alison and David, and Sarah our Administrator and for the many retired clergy who serve us so well.
Thank you once again for being so faithful in your prayers and for the many Christmas greetings we received.
May God Bless you and your church families from,
